Scott has practiced yoga for 25 years and taught for the last 15 years, 12 of which he has done so full time.
He is a Hatha Yoga teacher. But has studied and practiced under the three main styles of yoga. Iyengar, Ashtanga and Viniyoga. He was also taught by T.K.V. Desikachar and has worked studied and taught with Erich Schiffmann in Los Angeles a number of times as well as different yoga studios around the world.
Scott holds three different yoga teaching certificates. One with the International Yoga Teachers Association and two studying with Erich Schiffmann. I also studied anatomy at the New Zealand Acupuncture School.
Over the 12 years he ran his own yoga business Om Shanti Yoga in Wellington. Some of his regular cliental were as follows –
New Zealand School of Dance; Royal New Zealand Ballet; Rugby New Zealand; The All Blacks; The Hurricanes; Wellington Lions; Wellington Rugby Academy; Weta Digital; Park Road Post; Wingnut Films; New Zealand Parliament; Inland Revenue Department; British Embassy Wellington; Governors & Staff of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand; New Zealand Police Headquarters; Office of the Ombudsman; Fairfax Media; New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade; Morrison & Co. and other private businesses and clients. Scott was the artists yoga teacher for the Big Day Out for the years 06, 07, 08, 09. He was also Ma’a Nonu’s personal yoga teacher for 9 years. He also did quite a number of 1:1 teaching with many different professional athletes, business people as well as actors working on different films for Peter Jackson.
Scott teaches a mixture of all the different styles he has learnt but also from the discoveries of his own practice over the last 25 years too. Scott completed a Bachelor of Arts in Art History and English Literature from Victoria University in 2016, and is currently studying for his Masters of Teaching (Secondary) at University of Auckland.
